2. The Shivas w/ Hooded Hags & Mister Tang

Why: In between the hustle and bustle of playing shows at SXSW and Austin Psych Fest, The Shivas found some time to squeeze out album release party! With Hooded Hags and Mister Tang warming up your ears, this will be a good night indeed.
3. Savages w/ No Bra

Why: A primal post-punk act from London, Savages first show was an impromptu performance supporting British Sea Power last year. The quartet evoke a Birthday Party-era Nick Cave and their thrashing live shows are the talk of the town. Dig it.

Why: It’s time to let yourself fall down the rabbit hole and get lost in the psychedelic haze of not one, not two, but three fantastic bands! Featuring swirling guitars, super-sonic fuzz, and 60s pop-infused riffs—you won’t know what hit you, but you’ll definitely dig it.
3. Best Supporting Actress w/ Hooded Hags & Tiny Knives
Where: Club 21
How Much: Free!
When: Friday, December 23rd –9pm
Why: Starting as a duo in 2008, BSA self-recorded and self-released a few tapes while playing shows around town with the likes of Explode Into Colors and Guidance Counselor. This year they added bass into the mix and laid down some noisy bubblegum rock tracks with Kennel Jitters recordings. Get there and buy it!

2. The Reservations w/ Nucular Aminals and Hooded Hags

Why: You know him as the dark and crooning baritone frontman of The Reservations and Mattress–Rex Marshall. So why not help this dapper young gentleman age gracefully while rocking out to some of Portland’s finest rock’n’roll?

3. Real Estate w/ Big Troubles

Why: Psych surf-pop group Real Estate visits the West coast in support of their second full-length, Days. Representing Ridgewood, New Jersey (now based in Brooklyn), they bring friends and neighbors, Big Troubles, a fuzzy pop quartet that also hails from the garden state.
