Why: Sure it’s all gloom and doom out there (it is, afterall, still technically spring…), but it will be hot and sweaty in the Crystal Ballroom tonight with the Oxford five-piece. Foals are currently crossing the States in support of their third studio album, Holy Fire. Check out the video for “Inhaler”–you might just need one after.
2. 4th Annual SMMR BMMR Fundraiser

When: Saturday, June 1st – 8pm
Why: Holy moly, is it that time of year again already?! Well, no complaints here–that just means a rock’n'rollin’ good time is heading our way. Get off your butts and come help raise funds for the 4th Annual SMMR BMMR with Portland favs Mean Jeans, The Trashies, Therapists, and White Fang!

Why: Bunk Bar’s got your Monday night dance party right here! This show will most definitely sell out, so you best grab your tickets now. This promises to be an intimately awesome evening with dance-funk tunes from !!!‘s fifth studio release, THR!!!ER, and LA’s psych-trop pop group, White Arrows.

Those Darlins @ Bunk Bar, 8/2/2011
It is impossible not to love Nashville nellies Those Darlins. They rock. They roll (literally, around the stage). Last Tuesday at Bunk Bar, they took the crowd for a ride to sweaty-town, and ground on down their country-punk ramblins from new album Screws Get Loose.

1. Smith Westerns w/ Yeasayer

- How Much: $20 (adv)/$23 (All Ages)
- When: Friday, May 27th – 9pm
- Why: This Chicago based quartet channels their inner T. Rex with quiet dreamy vocals over Beatles-style progressions and fuzzy guitar lines. Now on Fat Possum, their sophomore effort, Dye It Blonde, showcases a more polished sound, but still true to form. Come witness the teenage dream unfold before your eyes.
