What’s Going On: 4/27 – 5/4

1. STRFKR

When/Where: 4.28 Holocene | 4.29 Doug Fir | 4.30 Mississippi Studios
-How Much: $5
-Why:  20+ sold out shows during their current spring tour; it’s pretty amazing that we can welcome these boys home with 3 more sold out shows!  Reptilians, the band’s first full-length release with Polyvinyl Records, features songs focused on dying and mortality.  But with a life-affirming and positive sound, you’ll surely be dancing and bobbing your head to explosive drum beats and layered synth melodies.

Holocene will have 100 tickets available at 9:30pm on the day of the show.

2. Make It Pop – Benefit for PDX Pop Now
Where: The Cleaners at The Ace Hotel
-How Much: $35 GA, $70 VIP
-When: Thursday, April 28th – 6:30pm
-Why:
Help a local nonprofit put on one of the best free, all-ages music festivals!  The general admission ticket price may seem a little hefty, but just think of all that’s included:  Laura Veirs, Eric Earley, Laura Gibson, Israel Nebecker, and DJ Jeremy Petersen.  If you’re still hungry for more:  snacks from Beast and treats from 50 Licks and Bakery Bar!  See you there!

3. Portugal. The Man

-Where: Roseland Theater
-How Much: $17.50
-When: Friday April 29th – 9pm
-Why:
Experimental indie rock four-piece known for their ever-changing live shows.  Passionate, raw, unconventional, yet catchy as hell, Portugal. The Man is currently on tour with a final stop in Manchester for Bonnaroo. The quartet has been working on their forthcoming release with Atlantic Records–their hugely anticipated debut from the label.  Expect to hear several new tunes, but don’t expect it to be like any other show you’ve seen.
