This week at The White Eagle, the honesty and poetry of Portland songwriter William Stafford moved one of our writers very deeply.
For the last 20 years, America’s most magical little festival, Pickathon, has showcased some of the best acts in roots, psych, soul, hip hop and world music, just east of Portland in Happy Valley. If you haven’t been able to bask in the glory of the three-day festival, Pickathon is bringing the memories to you for free at Kelly’s Olympian in downtown Portland.
Every Tuesday, you’ll get to experience rare video footage of past musical performances from some of your favorite acts that have only been seen by the eyes of Pickathon goers. Each week, you’ll see a different performance from the last five years projected on a big screen behind Kelly’s stage. Acts include Leon Bridges, Thundercat, Andrew Bird, War On Drugs, Ty Segall and many more. The best part? It’s totally free. So come down to Kelly’s, grab a beer and enjoy these never-made-public recorded performances. Check below for the full schedule.
