Rylie DeGarmo: “Before It Starts”

Rylie DeGarmo has a brand new bag. The Seattleite vocalist, formerly singer/songwriter of The Rue, a duo with her father, guitarist Chris DeGarmo, is debuting a brand new sound on her new single, the aptly titled “Before It Starts,” off of her upcoming album, Perigree. “Before It Starts” finds DeGarmo in full pop form, with layered vocal lines a-la Kimbra over early-aughts electric swells in a catchy, danceable package.

Degarmo says the track was a of a mutual exploration for both her and Nashville-based producer and session drummer Shannon Forrest, who lent his talents on the record. Perigree is set to cover a wide spectrum, from pop to jazz to rock to more of the mellow songwriter vibes DeGarmo has been known for in the past. The album  is out on all major platforms January 13th of next year.
