PawPaw Rod at Hawthorne Theater

PawPaw Rod made an appearance at Portland’s Hawthorne Theater and brought an impressive crowd with him. The roomy venue was packed to the brim with hundreds of concertgoers eagerly awaiting the show.

Hawaiian-born and Oklahoma-raised, PawPaw Rod blends funk, R&B, and soul into his unique sound. You may recognize his addictive 2020 single, “HIT EM WHERE IT HURTS.” Now, the artist is on tour supporting the release of his first full-length album, Picture Day.

Known for his effervescent personality and charismatic stage presence, PawPaw Rod proved exactly why he has earned that reputation. Fans packed the area in front of the stage, dancing, singing, and interacting with the artist throughout the night. After performing “I Wish,” a track from Picture Day, the crowd erupted into cheers that seemed to last for nearly five minutes. PawPaw Rod smiled, taking in the moment and soaking up the love from the audience.
