Debut Full-Length From Hearts & Tigers
Six piece Portland band Hearts & Tigers are set to debut their self-titled full-length record on Aug 1. Composed of three girls and three guys, their music presents pop music driven by girl harmonies, jangly guitars, and dancy rhythms. Bright vocals, paired with upbeat, catchy lyrics provide a unique approach to lush math-pop. The eleven track record highlights the band’s versatility by merging ethereal lullabies with jangly, sonic sounds.
The album ventures into The Colourist and Hunter Hunted territory, while mixing in whimsical vocals comparable to Of Montreal. Magnifying lead singer Anna Wallis’s vocals, their single “Cicada” serves as the debut’s foundation. The track’s punchy synth leads and shimmering loops provide the perfect catchy tune for any summer playlist. Other stand out tracks include “Write A Will,” “Sunny The Bully” and “Tender Tyrant.”
The cassette tape will be out on Aug 1 through Dear God No! and will be available from the Hearts & Tigers Bandcamp site (http://heartsandtigers.bandcamp.com) and select Portland music retailers.
