What’s Going On: 9/14 – 9/21
1. CAKE
Where: McMenamin’s Edgefield
How Much: $40
When: Friday, September 16 – 6pm
Why: CAKE is getting after it in a big way, having their first ever #1 album (according to some guy named Bill Board) earlier this year. They will be playing hits off the new record and of course some of the classics (Short Skirt, Long Jacket… Going The Distance… etc) because these guys love to please, and experience the fun with the audience. Teaser: You may be able to have your CAKE and read it too in the October issue of ELEVEN.
2. Wild Ones, Cataldo, Forest Park
Where: Mississippi Studios
How Much: Free (21+)
When: Saturday, September 17 – 9pm
Why: Wild Ones are fun-loving up-and-comers in the Portland music scene. If you missed them at the Doug Fir with Radiation City and Tu Fawning earlier this year, now is your chance. Also, the show is free, so you have even less of an excuse to miss it. Forest Park is bringing some special guests for this performance. Not only will it be more fun than that house party, you can always go there afterwards!
3. Low, Bachelorette
Where: Aladdin Theater
How Much: $18
When: Saturday, September 17 — 8pm
Why: There’s a reason Robert Plant covers songs by this band. C’mon and see why, as the “slowcore” musings of Low will be backing new album C’mon. Check the video: Here.
