Icona Pop @ Metro Chicago 9/12/2013
Sometimes you just have to take a trip out to Chicago to catch a bunch of cool things. Icona Pop at the Metro in Chicago was definitely one of those great, cool things. I have never been to Chicago in my life and I decided to make the trek out to check out Riot Fest and do touristy things like see the Bean! Traffic in Chicago can be a total jerk, so sadly I missed the opening acts: K. Flay and Sirah.
I did make it for an incredibly energetic set from the powerful Swedish duo, Icona Pop. As soon as I made my way into the venue I could hear them playing their hearts out to an equally giving crowd. I just have to say the crowd in Chicago had a lot of passion and great dance moves which went perfectly with the carefully orchestrated electropop beats that took over the entire venue from the pit all the way up to the balcony. .
The show was great, the crowd was amazing, and Chicago is pretty awesome too. They played the hits “I Love It” , “Ready for the Weekend” and “Girlfriend” and a bunch of other infectious dance songs off of their Self-Titled. I cannot wait until this duo makes it’s way back to the Pacific Northwest
