Why: As if you really need an excuse to hit up this annual rock’n’roll bash, but this just may be the last Bender as there are rumors of Slabtown being sold. In true Bender fashion, the line-up this year is solid: Wreckless Eric, Kid Congo & The Pink Monkey Birds, Trashies, TacocaT, Chuck and the Chuckleberries, and many more!
2. Superfresh 3: Revenge of the Synth!
Where: Branx
How Much: $7/day or $10/2-day pass
When: Friday-Saturday, February 3rd & 4th
Why: You know why! Catch the synthiest Portland bands around! Featuring: Radiation City, Brainstorm, Wampire, Strategy, Operative, Tunnels, Truckasauras, Jonny X and the Groadies, and more! The 2-day passes are available at Floating World Comics. Grab a pair of your friends and favorite dancing shoes!
3. Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra w/ Total Life
Where: Mississippi Studios
How Much: $14
When: Saturday, February 4th—9pm
Why: If you’re not feeling up for either of the above, I highly suggest checking out this experimental rock band out of Montreal. Formed by Godspeed! You Black Emperor musicians Efrim Menuck, Sophie Trudeau, and Thierry Amar the band is seen as a separate entity rather than an offshoot of GYBE.
