Why: It’s pretty damn easy being green, especially if you’re Colleen Green. Lo-fi stoner punk out of West L. A, Miss Green is even more carefree (read: stoned) than the early days of Bethany Cosentino (Best Coast). San Diego’s laid back pop rockers, Plateaus, and Portland’s own Still Caves will surely kill it with their gnarly blown-out garage punk tunes.
2. Tender Loving Empire’s 5th Birthday

Why: Celebrate five years of awesome with Finn Riggins (Boise), AAN, Body Parts (Los Angeles), Hustle and Drone, The Shivas, and The Morals at Tender Loving Empire’s birthday bash and compilation release party. 3. Beach House w/ Dustin Wong

When: Sunday, September 30th – 8pm
Why: Although you could park it at Mississippi Studios all weekend, a change of scenery is always good. Plus, do you really want to miss the ethereal melodic vocals of Victoria Legrand? Beach House has a knack for pairing enchanting melancholic lyrics with hazy keys and slide guitar – and it translates just as beautifully live as it does on record.
