What’s Going On: 10/10 – 10/17

1. THEEsatisfaction w/ Kingdom Crumbs
Where: Doug Fir
How Much: $12
When: Wednesday, October 10th – 9pm
Why: These supremely talented ladies, Stasia Irons and Catherine Harris-White, emanate a flurry of positive energy. The duo writes, produces, and performs their unique brand of psych-funk feminista with jazz and soul influence and some rap for good measure. Grab some friends and get down – you won’t want to miss what everyone’s been talking about.

2. Woods w/ Eat Skull & The Woolen Men
Where: Mississippi Studios
How Much: $12
When: Friday, October 12th – 9pm
Why: Three killer bands for $12 – not a bad deal at all. Make sure you’re on time for The Woolen Men, a Portland pop band that deserves more credit and buzz than it receives. Mutant noise-pop locals, Eat Skull, will most likely knock your socks off. Brooklyn-based Woods have a folky lo-fi rock sound that will bounce off the Mississippi Studio walls nicely.

3. Corin Tucker Band w/ Houndstooth
Where: Bunk Bar
How Much: $12/$14
When: Saturday, October 13th – 9pm
Why:  Known for founding one of the most influential riot grrrl bands, Sleater-Kinney, Corin Tucker has been taking it solo since 2010. September’s Kill My Blues scorches, and more closely resembles the Sleater-Kinney days. Tucker gives her fans rock music to move to – so put on your red shoes and let’s dance.
