1. Metronomy w/ NewVillager
Where: Mississippi Studios

When: Thursday, October 13th – 9pm
Why: This London electro-pop dance group has been around for more than a decade and are known for their energetic live performance complete with light shows (pre-synched chest lights!) and dancing. They’ve opened for such acts like CSS, Klaxons, and Bloc Party. Joining them is Brooklyn-based NewVillager, a band/artist collective that perform music and make visual art in various forms like fort-building and costumes. Oh heck yes.
2. St. Vincent w/ Cate Le Bon
Where: Crystal Ballroom
How Much: $16/$19
When: Friday, October 14th – 9pm
Why: Multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter Annie Clark (St. Vincent) is a former member of The Polyphonic Spree and former touring member of Sufjan Stevens. Her third album, Strange Mercy, just dropped last month and is catchier, sexier, and more guitar-driven than her previous releases. Opening is Cate Le Bon who is known to sing in English and Welsh. These are some uniquely talented ladies—grab yourself a ticket while you can.
3. Record Room One Year Anniversary Party!
Where: Record Room
How Much: Free!
When: Saturday, October 15th – 12pm
Why: Come celebrate the first birthday of the Record Room! Featuring performances by Secret Codes, Nucular Aminals, Hornet Leg, Hey Lover, The I’s, Wow + Flutters, and a slew of DJs! Bro-Dogs Food Cart will be there for munchies and of course you’ll have your choice of PBR, micros, wine, and mimosas (all for purchase). Support your local record store!
