Mane Character: Harry Silvers of Hippie Death Cult

I had the privilege of meeting Harry Silvers, drummer for Hippie Death Cult, at a house party on Halloween of last year. A mutual friend joked about his “costume”, and I assumed it was. Dressed in 70’s garb with flare leg pants, how could I think otherwise? Talking with him, I learned about his love of all things music, drumming, and his passion for exploring the world. His hair gently moved with the wind in the nighttime air as I admired his carefully crafted, enviable aesthetic. I was instantly jealous.

Fast-forward to now: Harry and Hippie Death Cult have just returned from a month-long tour in Europe. Harry sat down with me for a few questions about the future of Hippie Death Cult, what they’re up to, and his hair routine. Having just returned from tour, Hippie Death Cult doesn’t have any shows on the books, so seeing Harry in person is an honor, worth buying a shot of whiskey for. Currently, Harry and the band are in the process of writing and recording a new album. It’s still in the early process, so I wasn’t given much detail. We will just have to wait until their album drops. With that, resting is the utmost priority for the band, as a no-days-off tour in Europe takes its toll.
As for the hair, Harry’s black coif is shiny, healthy-looking, and the curls are flawlessly bouncy. His routine includes washing his hair two or three days a week with a German brand of shampoo he forgets the name of, while also conditioning with Mane and Tail. He then uses his own concoction of agar oil and water, while scrunching his hair into a style that’s voluminous, effortless, and makes everyone who comes in contact with him swoon.
