Video Premiere: Chris Ballew Artist Profile
At the age 8 or 9, The Presidents of the United States of America’s self-titled debut album was one of my first truly cherished cassette tapes, which I memorized front to back. A lot of folks probably have a similar story though, as the band sold around 5 million copies. Their follow up album II received similar praise, becoming certified gold, but never quite saw the same level of commercial success as their debut, and the band ultimately split up (for the first of a few times) in 1998.
While all members of PUSA eventually joined other bands or explored various side projects, none have a story quite as interesting as frontman and songwriter Chris Ballew. Local video production crew Shady Pines Media recently linked up with Ballew to shoot a mini documentary about his exceptionally rich musical history and current kids music project, Caspar Babypants.
