Nubya Garcia live at the Star Theater, April 15th, 2025

Nubya Garcia, the British saxophone icon, graced the Star Theater’s stage on April 15th. The Star Theater was overflowing with people, eagerly to see Garcia’s performance.

Garcia is known for her ability to combine multiple genres into her compositions, incorporating Caribbean, Electronic, and Latin  sounds. This smooth, groovy blend has been an inspiration since Garcia’s debut studio album, Source, released in 2020, and continues into her recent 2024 album, Odyssey. Odyssey features artists such as Richie and Esperanza Spalding, and has been praised for its seamless production and versatility. Garcia was recently showcased on NPR’s Tiny Desk, where she plays selections from the new record.

Beyond Garcia’s talent, her stage presence is undeniably magnetic. The audience at the Star Theater was honed in on every note she played.
