Quadeca live at the Aladdin Theater, October 3rd, 2025

To be honest, I was not expecting Quadeca to have such an active fanbase in Portland. The crowd proved me wrong–a fully sold-out show with fans lining up around the block at the Aladdin Theatre an hour before the doors opened. A wide age range was represented among the fans, from young teens to adults who discovered Quadeca more recently.
FearDorian started the night off with high energy, playing tracks off his 2025 album Out The Past With A Window, including “Backbone” and “Foolin”, along with fan favorites such as “BOYBAND” and “Highschool”. It took the crowd a couple songs to get warmed up, but by the third or fourth song, FearDorian engaged the crowd, inciting mosh pits and bouncing with his more energetic, jumpy tracks. FearDorian ended with “Shame on you,” with the crowd shining phone lights, waving back and forth. The audience, myself included, were left with an ecstatic impression of FearDorian’s stage presence and sound. It was a great warm up before the headliner: Quadeca himself.

Quadeca’s set began with a cinematic build-up that embraced the nautical aesthetic of his album Vanisher, Horizon Scraper, exploring themes of self-discovery and the journey through life. The first song, “No Questions Asked”, opened with Quadeca raising a sail on stage, which set the tone perfectly. “GodStained,” one of the most popular songs off the LP, was one of the first few songs of the album to immediately pull my full attention. People sang in unison during the chorus and synergy filled the room. The energy of the concert shifted significantly from melancholic acoustics like “That’s Why” to Quadeca’s experimental rap, such as “Sisyphus” and “Thundrrr” which sparked intense mosh pits. The concert itself felt like watching a live performance of the full album movie, with Quadeca taking us on an adventure, setting the sail, and traveling through the unknown.
