February 29, 2012
- The Growlers w/ Allah-Las & The Reservations
Where: Mississippi Studios
How Much: $10/$12
When: Thursday, March 1st—9pm
Why: A healthy mix of surf, psych, and pop—The Growlers are four-piece formed in Long Beach in 2006. With a new album slated for release this year (rumor has it The Black Keys own Dan Auerbach will produce it), there’ll surely be some new tunes in the mix. Don’t be late—both openers are top notch! - NOBUNNY w/ Mean Jeans, Guantanamo Baywatch & Boom!
Where: East End
How Much: $11
When: Saturday, March 3rd—9pm
Why: NOBUNNY does slop pop punk’n’roll better. Often performing in tighty whities and always in a bunny mask, the live shows are second to none with infectious hooks and raw energy. There’s really nothing like it—plus you’ve got three badass openers! What more could you want? - Cloud Nothings w/ Mr. Dream & Hausu
Where: Holocene
How Much: $10
When: Monday, March 5th—9pm
Why: This pop-punk foursome started off with Dylan Baldi recording lo-fi tracks in his parents’ basement which spread around the internet grabbing the attention of New York concert promoter. Baldi dropped out of college, put together a band, and hasn’t looked back. Reminiscent of Guided By Voices, Brooklyn rockers Mr. Dream might just steal the show.
