Sun Room at Polaris Hall, February 8th, 2025
Sun Room headlined Polaris Hall in Portland for the second night of their tour for their new EP, Can’t Explain, on January 8. The Southern California band consists of Luke Asgian, Ashton Minnich, Max Pinamonti, and Thomas Rhodes. With support from Portland indie rock band Les Gold, the evening set off with an energetic start.
Sun Room opened the show with “Just Yesterday,” followed by their newest hit, “Can’t Explain,” the title track off their new EP, which quickly created an undeniable energy. The band also covered Mazzy Star’s “Fade Into You.” For the majority of the show, the young audience started a small mosh pit, creating an energetic vibe not only for the audience but also for the band.
Luke Asgian’s ability to interact with the audience was also a big contributor to the energy felt within the crowd. Sun Room concluded the show with “Cadillac,” bringing a perfect ending to the night. Sun Room will continue touring the West Coast until mid-March, ending in Santa Cruz, and making the anticipation for a sunny summer so much sweeter.
