Asha Imuno live at the Get Down, September 27th, 2024
ElevenPDX got the opportunity to watch Asha Imuno’s show at The Get Down, and wow, what a night! Fresh off the release of his debut album, Pins & Needles, on March 1st of this year, Asha brought some serious heat to Portland. During Imuno’s performance of his hit track, “PHONICS,” featuring Westside Boogie, you could feel the vibe shift. His lyrics dive deep into his experience as a 22-year-old from Moreno Valley, and the way he shares his perspective makes every track feel personal and real. Songs like “HONEY,” featuring bLAck pARty, were highlights of the night, with Imuno’s performance full of raw emotion.
What really set this show apart was how interactive it was. Asha Imuno was consistently engaging with the crowd, getting fans hyped to sing along. Imano’s stage presence is off the charts; being comfortable on stage seems to come as second nature, and let’s not forget his style! Asha Imuno dropped his new self-produced single “eXCiTING :)” on August 14th, which made for a killer live performance. It’s clear Imuno is a full-on artist, telling stories through his music and performance, and building a strong connection between him and his listeners. If you get a chance to catch Asha Imuno live, don’t sleep on it. His energy, style, and genuine connection with the audience made this one of our favorite shows this year.
