The Script live at the Roseland, September 8th, 2024

On September 8th, the Roseland Theater in Portland, Oregon, was graced with the presence of the Irish pop rock band The Script, marking their return to the city after a considerable hiatus. The anticipation in the air was palpable as the band opened their set with the hit “Superheroes” from their 2014 album, No Sound Without Silence. The crowd erupted in unison, singing along with passion as lead singer Danny O’Donoghue poured his heart into every note. His genuine happiness and the vibrant energy he exuded were infectious, making it clear how much he cherished reconnecting with their adoring fans. The show was a high-energy spectacle, with each song delivering its own unique feeling.

The highlight of the night was undoubtedly the moment when O’Donoghue engaged the crowd by taking a fan’s phone and serenading the person on the other end, creating a spontaneous and memorable connection that everyone felt a part of. Hits like “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved” and “For the First Time” kept the audience singing and swaying, while the drummer and vocalist, Glen Power, added his own charm and dynamic vocals to the performance.  As the night ended, the crowd’s enthusiasm surged with a rowdy encore, leading to the band playing, “Breakeven” and “Hall of Fame.” With their recent release of the Satellites album on August 16th, The Script is set to continue their tour, and if Portland’s reaction was any indication, their journey ahead is bound to be filled with even more unforgettable moments.
