Guantanamo Baywatch w/ Curtis Harding: “Too Late”

Portland’s own gnarly surf-garage trio Guantanamo Baywatch has new record entitled Darling… It’s Too Late dropping May 12th via Suicide Squeeze Records. Today the band has shared a peek at the record, and it’s a very intriguing number that features label mate Curtis Harding on back up vocals. Guantanamo Baywatch was perhaps inspired to collaborate with Harding since they recorded the new record in his hometown of Atlanta at Living Room Recording.

The track itself is about as charmingly ramshackle as you’d expect from the trio, but also has a surprising and very cool Motown vibe to it. The band has said that they wanted the record to have a “mixtape feel” to it and explore different sounds, and if “Too Late” is any indication, they’ve achieved some interesting results via this new approach.
