Video Premiere: Moon Shy – “Romantic Egoists”

Dog in a cone – check. Floral patterns – check. Wigs – check. Passing a rubber chicken – check. Swapping outfits and instruments – check. All that and more, in the absolutely adorable new video for Moon Shy’s “Romantic Egoists” shot and edited by Luke Borsten.

A new project from Stephen Leisy of Genders, Moon Shy play a timeless blend of psych-tinged garage-pop. Their track “Romantic Egoists” calls to mind the poppy and playful melody of The Beatles’ “In My Life”, through a grittier, dancier and dare I say more psychedelic lens. Leisy certainly has no shortage of songwriting and recording chops, and his new power trio shows serious promise for becoming one of Portland’s next big acts.
